The Karl-Schumann award for the year 2005, has been granted to Adrian Lüthy and Dr. Reto Dicht for their monograph of the genus Coryphantha. The monograph, published as a book, recognises 43 species of Coryphantha and represents an excellent overview of this genus. It is based on Mexican field studies as well as observation of plants in culture. The monograph fullfils all criteria on scientific research. The authors fully succeed in presenting their conclusions in an interesting and easily understood way. Reading this book makes you feel like taking a much greater interest in the genus Coryphantha. Few authors succeed in interesting others in their own area of research.
